We usually get asked a lot of questions about the process and the timing of events when building, so here is some information about the main steps in the process.

At any stage in this process you are welcome to contact us to get updates or if you have any questions about the process or tasks that are being undertaken.

The process is basically broken into 4 steps:

  • Building Application

This is where we complete engineered drawings, site plans and submit to the Certifier to obtain Building Application. All Class 10a structures over 10m2 require a Building Application under the Building Act 1975.
  • Foundations

This is where we arrange earthworks, site preparation and pour your slab or footings as the foundation of your building.
  • Materials

Materials will be ordered once Slab Payment has been received. Once Order Confirmations have been obtained from our Suppliers we will issue Invoice for Materials which is due for payment prior to delivery.
  • Construction

One of our Construction teams then construct your building to the engineer’s specifications. This is the end of the process for Jquip Constructions. Upon Practical Completion we will issue Invoice for the Construction Component of your contract. This is the final Invoice for the Contract. While our part of the process finishes here we are still available to provide advice right through until the Final Inspection is obtained.
  • Storm water

Connection of Storm water system – by us if contracted or by other if arranged yourself
  • Other works

If you would like electrical, plumbing or other works in conjunction with the construction of your structure we are more than happy to work with your tradesperson’s or recommend some we have used.
  • Final Inspection

Once this is complete you can contact the certifier to complete the Final Inspection to obtain your Final Inspection Approval. Your fees for this final Inspection have already been paid to the Certifier in your Building Application fee.
